In order to accelerate the construction of first-class undergraduate majors in Guangxi University, standardize the construction and management of undergraduate majors, further improve the level of undergraduate major construction, and continuously improve the teaching quality, the College of Animal Science and Technology held a symposium and special report meeting on the construction of first-class majors on the morning of March 28. The meeting specially invited Professor Jiang Siwen, Secretary-General of the Teaching Guidance Committee of Animal Production Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education and Professor of Huazhong Agricultural University, to visit our school for a discussion and give a keynote report to guide the construction of national and regional first-class undergraduate majors in Guangxi University.

The meeting was divided into two parts. The first part was a symposium on the construction of first-class majors. The symposium was held in Conference Room 302 of the College of Animal Science and Technology. The participants included Professor Jiang Siwen, the participants from the Academic Affairs Office of Guangxi University (Deputy Director Xie Jian, Teacher Fang Xiaoli), and the participants from the College of Animal Science and Technology (Secretary Wei Xiaoqiang, Dean Lu Yangqing, all vice deans, directors and deputy directors of grassroots teaching organizations, etc.). After the meeting began, Vice Dean Jiang Qinyang of the College of Animal Science introduced the development history of Guangxi University and the professional construction of the College of Animal Science and Technology. The participants exchanged views on the construction of first-class majors in Guangxi University. During the meeting, Professor Jiang Siwen provided suggestions on how to further develop the relevant majors and disciplines of the College of Animal Science and Technology.

The second session was a special report meeting on the construction of first-class majors. The meeting was held in Conference Room 318 of the College of Animal Science and Technology. Professor Jiang Siwen gave a special report. Participants included Deputy Director Xie Jian of the Academic Affairs Office of Guangxi University, Dean Lu Yangqing of the College of Animal Science and Technology, Vice Dean Jiang Qinyang, relevant persons in charge of other colleges, full-time teachers of the College of Animal Science and Technology, experimental teachers, etc. Professor Jiang Siwen gave a special report entitled "The Construction Path and Certification Thinking of the National First-Class Undergraduate Major Based on the Integration of the "Four Chains", focusing on the construction methods, development situation, and certification of the national first-class majors in agricultural science, and gave detailed answers to the questions of the participants.

This meeting played a promoting role in helping the teachers in charge of relevant professional construction of Guangxi University to further supplement the first-class professional construction certification materials in a targeted manner, clarify the future direction of construction efforts, and improve the quality of professional teaching.
