From June 28 to July 1, the 11th Member Representative Conference and the 26th Academic Seminar of the Veterinary Surgery Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, hosted by the Veterinary Surgery Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and organized by Northeast Agricultural University, was held in Harbin, China. Nearly 300 veterinary surgery experts, scholars, and graduate students from 29 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, 57 universities, and 22 animal hospitals across the country attended the event. Professor Zheng Xibang, Assistant Professor Ding Jiafeng, Assistant Professor Shi Mingxian, Assistant Professor Lei Lei, Assistant Professor Mou Jing, and doctoral student Zhai Changhong from the Veterinary Surgery Teaching and Research Section of the College of Animal Science and Technology attended the meeting.

In this conference, Professor Wang Hongbin of Northeast Agricultural University, Professor Li Hongquan, Vice President of Shanxi Agricultural University, and Professor Lin Degui of China Agricultural University gave keynote speeches respectively. Teachers’ and postgraduates’ academic forums were set up to fully demonstrate the latest research results and advanced clinical diagnosis and treatment techniques in the field of veterinary surgery, providing a broad platform for learning and communication for participating teachers and students. In the teachers’ academic forum, Assistant Professor Ding Jiafeng, Assistant Professor Shi Mingxian, and Assistant Professor Lei Lei gave conference reports on research related to laminitis in dairy cows and buffalo diarrhea. Dr. Zhai Changhong gave a report on the pathogenesis of laminitis in dairy cows in the postgraduate forum. The content of the team’s report was unanimously recognized by experts from the Veterinary Surgery Society. Among them, the conference papers of students Zhai Changhong, Xu Jiayin, and Huang Leixi from the College of Animal Science and Technology were selected as excellent papers of the conference.

Dr. Zhai Changhong gave a report at the conference. Professor Zheng Xibang said that this conference was a rare learning opportunity for the teachers and students of the team. It not only broadened their horizons, but also provided an opportunity for the veterinary surgery team of the College of Animal Science and Technology to communicate and cooperate with veterinary surgery colleagues across the country.
